Release 2.1.0 (April 30, 2024)
Release 2.1.0 adds two new major functions to the Kurloo Nest: multi-session support, and a third party weather service.
Multiple Sessions Per Day
Until now, Kurloo devices have been limited to taking one reading per day. This has been a trade off between collecting enough GNSS data to achieve the desired measurement accuracy and maintaining adequate battery life. Following firmware optimisation that has improved device energy efficiency, and research into the effect of reduced GNSS session times on measurement accuracy, we can now roll out multi-session support to Kurloo users so that you can take multiple measurements per day.
As a result, you will see times selection enabled for various date selectors throughout the Nest, for example on reference dates, data removals or data adjustments, which let you target individual readings when there are more than one on each day. If having more than one reading per day is useful for your project, please get in touch with us to discuss it.

Third Party Weather Service
Previously only Australian Bureau of Metorology (BOM) data has been available to overlay on Kurloo readings on the Nest to view data such as daily rainfall amounts. Release 2.1.0 adds an option to instead source weather data from the global weather service, Open-Meteo. Open-Meteo sources data from national weather services around the world to model weather at high resolution anywhere in the world. This weather service allows more accurate weather data for those projects within Australia that are distant from a BOM weather station, or those that have different local weather patterns to a nearby BOM weather station. It also enables weather data for overseas projects.
Various small improvements and bug fixes
There are also various small improvements and bugs that have been fixed since the Version 2.0.0 release.
- Rainfall overlay on charts has been changed from a line chart to bar charts
- Dates without a trigger have been disabled in the alert history to make it easier to find alert events
- System logs can be viewed and searched over a date range making it easier to audit project events
- Improved support page navigation
- Improved some display colours for better visability
